Just wondering if any of you have had cases of H1N1 flu in your international school and what the school's procedures for dealing with it were.

We're struggling with this now- closing the school, sending work home, etc. I'd like to know how other schools/countries are handling it.

No plan here, they are playing it by ear. We are a very small school but share with a huge local school.
We are not sure if we will be forced to follow their lead or not if they close. Our kids have no contact with each other except in the cafeteria.
We are told we are in the high risk group so vaccine will be available to us in about a month.

Tomorrow am going back to school after the high school closed for a week for H1N1. Ours is a one-to-one laptop school, and all teachers already have wikis, nings or other online tools to keep students and their parents informed, homework assignments and classwork posted, etc. So it really wasn't terribly disruptive for me and we got as much done (minus the social interaction) as we would have if we were all in the classroom. Our school has a well-defined policy (temp checks every morning for EVERYONE, follow government closure policies, regular sanitization of the school) but I'm not exactly sure what will happen tomorrow if kids are still coming to school sick (their parents don't want them to miss any school even when they're running a fever). :?

What countries are you in? In Ukraine, all schools, public and private, are closed for the next three weeks as a precaution against swine flu spreading.
