To describe a IB classroom in a cliche, "You do less, the students do more". If youve ever seen a classroom using reader/writer workshop they can look very similar. Emphasis is on higher levels of blooms taxonomy. You see students solving world relevant issues and applied problems, as part of projects or modules of study that have a common theme or psycho kinesic skill (also called developmental neuro plasticity). Small group learning to determine solutions and outcomes but also developing new lines of inquiry.

Assessment is more holistic, it focuses less on algorithmic solutions and assessing the means and method for the student to develop heuristic schemas to predict a students ability to solve similar yet differing problems in the future.
