Whetehr you can get an invitation for the BOS fair isnt a question we can answer. Though i think you very likely could get one, and my advice is that you go if you can. You would just need to change perspectives and go as an intern. You would still have access to the same schools, and an internship is a great way of getting into a tier 1 school. These internships are typically fully paid on the standard salary scale. You may not get all the benefits of an OSH, but given the opportunity to work at such schools with minimal experience more then makes it worth while. Internship contracts are generally a year and afterwords can be renewed under a full OSH package.

Realistically thats what you are anyway is an intern, as your still working on your certification. Why go to a fair like UNI and go somewhere like SCA where there isnt any money, or go to the ME where your very likely going to end up at a horror house of a school?[/quote]

Havent thought about an "internship". I am alittle hesitant though as my main goal my first couple of years will be to save money while getting experience. I have some investment projects I want to get off the ground asap.

So ideally I want to land a job in the ME and live like a hermit and do math tutoring for 2 years then relocate to South America.

Just hoping no experience and only a certification/license (HS Math) will not be a deal breaker and force me to take some lower tier school where I wont even be able to save a decent amount of money. That would be depressing. I have faith in my personality / interviewing skills though.

I got a year until the stress begins! lol

@shadowjack

All fairs are not everything to all candidates. Different fairs focus on different sub-populations of candidates. The BKK fair is the experienced candidate fair, it is not the intern fair, and may explain why Mrs. Shadowjack was not successful. The BOS fair is the SA internship fair.

@CaliPro

Any understand your goals. Interns make the same salary as teachers, so even in the ME an intern at a tier 1 school (cant believe I said that) in the ME is going to make more money then a teacher at a lower tier school. The differences in compensation between tiers within a region are much larger then the differences at ant one school between steps.
