QSI singles hiring
QSI singles hiring
There has been a lot of really helpful information lately about QSI, but I wondered if someone could give any information/advice about singles hiring at QSI. I know that they prefer married couples, but I also know that singles are hired. I have an interview at the end of the month, and I wondered what should I expect? Are there any QSI singles out there or anyone with the organization who knows single hires and what that process looked like? Is it any different from what has already been posted? Thanks so much!

Koda,
I am single and had an interview set up in San Diego for last spring, but received another good job offer and canceled the interview. The president/owner emailed me and said he was disappointed and that I was "the kind of person they liked to have working for the organization". So, it appears that they do hire singles. I was told they generally hire singles for certain schools, but prefer couples for others. They were considering me for the school in Shekou. Good luck!

How did you know they were considering you for Shekou- did you apply for that school/area specifically or did they let you know prior to the interview?
They've checked all of my references and all of that jazz, but they haven't given any indication of locations... I've checked the website, and only one opening has an odd number, which would fit for singles... but based on past years, it seems like very few openings this year...
Good to know they do hire singles, thanks for the info. Do you know which schools tend to hire more singles by chance?

QSI and single
QSI appears to hire singles based on need i.e. for locations like Atyrau etc where they can't get couples. However, they have strong moral guidelines and do not like singles dating local or each other, going to bars or generally having much of a life outside school.

Wow, this seems very strange. I am single and this sounds really intrusive and inappropriate, actually. I noticed an opening for this year which would suit me, but this gives me pause... that, and I wasn't too sure I could spend even a year in Turkmenistan! (although, at the same time I am intrigued by a country most of us know so little about...)
Anyone know anything about the post? It's in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. It is on my second tier list of schools.
