Hello all,
My boyfriend and I have been teaching ESL for 3 years abroad, but we only have BA's and TEFL certificates. We're starting the George Mason Fast Train program this summer, which allows international teachers to get their credentials/MA's over 3 super-intensive summers and a few online courses. In lieu of student teaching, it is instead required to teach for a year at an international school.
The program is perfect, but I'm wondering if there are any schools/countries that would hire a teaching couple that's not yet certified (though in school to become so). Any advice? Is a Search Associates job fair even worth the money if most schools won't hire me? Or is there a chance some schools would?
Thanks!
No teaching credential - any jobs?

Depends on the country and the school. I don't have my teaching cert yet but I'm a few months away from finishing my cert course. And I just got a job in an international school at Bangkok search fair. Although I'm a tech teacher/facilitator/integrator.
A lot of the teachers in my current school have degrees in other subjects non-education but they are pursuing their post grads in education.
Your other issue will be lack of IB experience at a Search fair.

Can you tell where you're going? Were the tech jobs still open when you left? Looking at a couple of tech jobs in Singapore and hoping they are still open at UNI (tech facilitator and Director).
I can tell you that I know for sure that three tech positions have gone in 2 schools in Singapore since the beginning of January. I took one!
Thanks- I was looking at the Director job at SAS. I think they also had a couple of classroom positions; Elementary and Middle School. I see the director and middle school position is still listed- although that really doesn't mean anything as some schools don't seem to update their sites on a regular basis.
