Single Female Traveling Alone

Post by Becca »

I'm new to this forum. This is my first year teaching overseas. I'm in Singapore. Life here is good. During upcoming extended holidays and Summer break I'm ready to venture out and explore other countries. Can some of you experienced single-women travels out there fill me in on reasonably safe countries/cities where a single female can travel alone and not get harassed by every guy on the street. I'm 26 now. When I was 17 I went with my parents to Egypt. I've seen the worst. I couldn't leave the hotel on my own nor be left alone, anywhere. It was ridiculous and frightening at times.

Can some single-female teachers speak from personal experience as it seems just about every country in the world has some sort of travel warning. Singapore is probably the safest place in the world for me. But it is time to venture out. Thanks so much. Becca

Taiwan and Japan are both just as safe (or even safer) than Singapore, and also great destinations for travel.
