Just for fun: City comparisons (US centric)

Yesterday my husband said "Chiang Mai is like the Austin* of Thailand." I thought this was a great comparison. What else you got?

*Austin of legend, from the 90s. Not the corporatized version it's become.

They call Dubai the Las Vegas of the Mid East.

Beirut was called the Paris of the Middle East.

Was London the european NYC ?

Macau is the Las Vegas of Asia
