Reasonable Salary for Belgrade?
I'm in the very early stages of talking to an international school in Belgrade and they've asked me what my expected salary would be. I know incomes and the cost of living in Serbia are not all that high, but I honestly have no idea what to reply. The school would probably be considered one of the middle tier international schools for the city. Is 1,500 Euro a month way too low? Is 3,000 Euro too high?

Do they offer housing?
I don't think 3,000 a month, plus housing, is too much. In fact, for that area, I would expect housing, flights, and at LEAST 3,000 a month. If you are experienced, $3,500+ a month.
I am not so far from Serbia, so I'm basing this advice on Eastern European packages; Serbia is near that region.

Thanks coughingfurballs, that's the kind of advice I am looking for. Honestly, I'm not sure if they offer housing, or flights or anything really. The school looks good from creeping their facebook and webpage, but I can find almost nothing online about them and one of their first questions after telling me about some open positions was, "let me know if these sound like positions you might be interested in and what you might expect in terms of salary."
I guess I'll reply that I'm interested, but need more information to suggest a reasonable salary. "What do you expect in terms of salary" is such a terrible question. Too high and you're weeded out. Too low and you start negotiations offering to accept less than you could have.

The school might in fact be good but the whole what would you want, tell us if you might be interested scene sounds fairly dodgy. Maybe that is how they do things in that part of the world but it suggests that they do not have a established pay scale etc.
Unless you are one of those mythical unicorn/rockstars and they are afraid of letting you slip away.
