Moving to a new city soon, and wanting to see about substitute teaching (which might hopefully lead to an actual full time position). Not sure the best way to go about it. Email? Visit the school in person?
Thanks

Email if it's a larger school.
Visit if it's small

I would first start out by examining the ISs HR page, many ISs have instructions for substitute/relief/supply teaching pool and how to apply to them. Second, call to arrange a visit/interview, most ISs have accumulated large pools of potential ITs from spouses of current staff and parents of students. You want to show what you can offer over just a warm body. Third, you want to suck up to the office staff either the office manager or IS secretary. You want to be near the top of the call list and if its not an ISs principal or senior leadership that calls for a relief/substitute IT its the office staff.
