quiet family life
I'm looking for some advice and know that word of mouth is a good place to start. My husband and I are in our first year of a two year contract in Singapore. We came here because we thought that life would be simpler without houses, vehicles, etc. However, we find it too crowded, too busy, too much traffic. We have two small children, work at two separate campuses, and find life busier than ever before. After this contract is over, we will be actively looking for a place that is very quiet and out of the way. No major cities. Even company compounds are fine. Somewhere where housing is either attached or beside the school. We want something quiet, simple and low key.We don't have restrictions on location. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Quiet family life
Hi,
Brunei is a wonderful place for families - peaceful, gentle pace of life, friendly - many stay for years and bring up their children here. It is a gem..I know what you mean about Singapore - i feel the same.
If you teach English, CfBT have a project in Brunei and are recruiting now www.cfbt.org
Or there are 2 international schools here too.
Good luck!

International School Bangkok! "WHAT???" you might think... However, ISB is in a suburb outside of Bangkok and away from all the hustle and bustle of that city. Faculty housing is, along with the school, inside a big pre-planned expat community. Some seem to hate that fact (and therefor choose to live downtown), while others stay because of it. And like one of the previous posters said, all the potential allure of big city life isn't that far away..........
