Got a job!
Got a job!
I just accepted an offer for a great school (Tier 1) in a good location. I'm not posting this to brag, but to say that jobs are still out there. Keep applying to schools. You will get something. Good luck, everyone!

Alexandru,
Can you send me a PM and tell me what the school is and what you teach?

Congratulations, Alexandru, well done! I know that feeling of elation all too well :)
Good luck to everyone still searching, there are many encouraging posts re employment offers from April onwards.

I just accepted an offer too!!!! And it is with a good school. I wouldn't say tier 3, but it's a huge step up from where I am. Although, it is probably tier 3 for the country it is in.
At the same time I got the offer, I also got 3 more emails for interview requests (which made accepting a very difficult decision....but decided to go with the solid than with a what-if), so the jobs are definitely still out there. And this girl will be turning down 3 interviews.

Same happened to me earlier in the season! Nothing for months, then right when I was offered a job after the first interview, I got three more offers to speak all of a sudden. Went with the first place and have no regrets. Just weird how the timing works.
And lemon - the tier doesn't make any difference, all that matters is that you are happy and doing what you love to do :)

How did you get your job? Emailing schools? Job fair? etc

Applying directly. I've never signed up with SA or ISS, only TIE and I've only applied directly to schools. It's been working so far for me....although this year has been rough. Next time I might do fairs....Although I have a friend at my current school who very experienced and has gone to two fairs this year, and still doesn't have a job. So it's all luck of the draw really. It's just really hard for me to spend that much money on my job search. I prefer interviewing from the comfort of my home...

Re: Got a job!
Big Congrats to everyone signing up for new spots. I hope that they are professionally rewarding and bring lots of adventure. I don't think I'll be looking for a job for quite a while, but I remember the highs and lows of preparing my materials, interviewing, and the elation of finally accepting an offer.
