American School of Dubai

Is this considered a top tier school in the ME? How is the savings potential? Looked really low on the Search site. I don't know how the housing works...that may be a factor in the savings.

Yeah, I know what you mean. The Search profile shows a mediocre salary and benefits, except for $30,000 settling in - THIS CANNOT BE CORRECT?!

And Raymond James is not, from what I have heard, a great place to invest money.

Speaking in PURELY FINANCIAL TERMS, how is the savings potential and what is the cost of living?

Thanks.

OK, I have friends there so I am putting out feelers for you.
I agree that the savings potential looks so grim as to be a typo. Frankly, we are disciplined savers and managed to save quite a bit in Norway (without living like monks!), so those figures always need to be taken with a pinch of salt!
I should imagine with the stated housing package that you could save more if you were motivated. Plus the yearly flight is worth a decent whack. However, the cost of living is comparable to where I am - not cheap, especially if you are profligate.
The last time I spoke to them they were extremely happy, especially with the quality of education that their children were receiving. They are "old hands" on the international circuit so I value their opinion on this.
One other bit of data to look out for is the fact that they say 0% host country nationals. In the ME this can be a REALLY good thing. But it is worth adding that many locals also have US/Canadian passports.
I'll let you know if there is anything else I can add.

American School of Dubai clearly explains their salary and benefits package on their web site.
