Schools in Europe

Post by nkraai »

Are there any schools in Europe that have a decent savings potential if you live frugally? Any schools that exempt you from income tax and give you a decent housing allowance beyond AIS-Budapest? I've lived in Eastern Europe and would gladly go back if that's where the possibilities are. However; I didn't know if anyone had experience at any schools in western or northern Europe where savings potential was pretty solid. Thanks for your help!

Cheers,

Not in western/northern europe. Thats what kills you in europe the average tax rate is 40% (they typically tax your childrens tuition waivers as well). Add to that, that schools in europe dont include housing allowances, and it would be extremely difficult to save anything with a trailing spouse. even if you did it wouldnt be much.

Shouldn't you be at your meetings at your new DoDEA school, PsyGuy? Watch what you post on a DoDEA network, it says monitoring assumed, but they're watching you...
