Experience in Nicaragua

Has anyone had any experience (positive or negative) with living or working in Nicaragua? Is an IT salary generally enough for a single person to live comfortably and save? From what I've read, it sounds like a relatively safe country compared to some of it's neighbors but it's hard to tell what the quality of the schools there are like (without naming any names).

I was there so long ago that none of my info will be useful. The country has changed, the government has changed, the schools have changed, even the money has changed.
But for what it's worth, I had a great time there.

What do you define as a comfortable lifestyle and what are your savings goals. Its very much like the majority of LCSA, in that you can live well on a typical salary as long as you live on the economy, and stay there. Travel, leave, or require a lot of imports and you will be unhappy.
