"If" being the operative term, I can see a cascade of effects that potentially might happen, but it could easily go a different way. Brexit will have more of an impact on IE than the US elections, even with Trump, and even if his trade policies result in isolationism and xenophobia. USNC gets a disproportionate amount of attention in IE, there are far more EU and UK expats out there on corporate contracts than there are US. USNC ISs are over represented because its so easy to appropriate a USNC for an IS, you dont have to do anything (accreditation is option), and unlike the UKNC which is well defined any IS that offers a program of social studies, maths, literature, science and arts can say they are American. Whatever policies the trump administration does, even if it results in a massive hemorrhage of corporate involvement is really only going to effect the elite tier ISs with their larger international base of students. Those ISs will shrink, but they wont disappear.
