Individual School Fairs
I'm noticing a school in HK having their own fair in November? This seems new. Is it their way of avoiding Search/ISS fairs the fees? Do you think it's worth attending if it's a school you really want?
Re: Individual School Fairs
If it is a school you really want then why wouldn't you go? If they are putting on their own fair they will be hiring at it.
Of course this depends on where you are and how much it will cost you to get there and if they have positions for you and if you feel like you have a legit shot at a job. Many HK teachers move around the schools in that city so they are having a fair to try and persuade teachers in the area to jump to that school.

Its because its HK, which is a very small region with a high concentration of ISs. This is essentially an 'open house', as the regional fair (SA) is really just a swap meet for HK ISs and ITs. Its not uncommon, just rarely advertised, a lot of recruiting inside HK is internal, and its a well connected and close group.
