Does anyone know of any distance/online courses for gaining certification in special education? I'm specifically interested in elementary. The more cost effective the better.

The programs supplied by @marieh are not going to help you. They are fine for PD to maintain and renew a license but regulatory authorities require you complete either 1) An EPP/ITT program for your initial certification or if your currently certified either 2) Complete a certain amount of Uni coursework or 3) Pass a certification exam/assessment. There are some peripheral methods of adding short term endorsements and authorizations but they arent practical to IE.

Are you asking about how to become a primary SPED DT/IT or youre already a credentialed DT/IT and want to add an endorsement or field to your current credential?
