Busan Foreign School

Post by elvato »

Hello Forum,

How is it in South Korea? savings potential/cost of living/what is a reasonable salary for this area where I could still save an average amount of capital? (non-teaching spouse and one young child) What is a typical salary/package offer from schools in this area? Any other info, other than review type info, you can add would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I am happy to stand corrected but I have heard that it is very difficult to get hired in South Korea with a TS and a child (children) - the schools don't want to spring for the visas and the accommodation is pretty tight.

That has been the case with the interviews I have had for positions in SK which were cut short after I was asked if I was single or a teaching couple.

Hi Nomad,

Thanks for the reply, although grim news, I know that's the reality in SK. I will keep my options open and see what happens.

Cheers

I concur with @Nomad68, it would be extremely difficult to find an IS in SK (Seoul) that would take a TS and a dependent with a 3:1 ratio.
