AASSA is one of the early fairs of the year so is the SA Melbourne fair, its out of season however. SA has a lot of fairs, each SA associate is associated or hosts one of them. The three main mega fairs though cant be hosted by everyone, and not everyone can attend those three fairs. So the other associates have fairs that no one wants empty so associates "dump" candidates into them or those fairs appeal to only a small regional niche of IE such as the HK fair.
AASSA is the same scenario its an attempt by recruiters in a hardship region (compensation is traditionally low, as well as some security and safety issues in some locations), to sign ITs for lower tier ISs in S.A. and L.A. before they have an opportunity to explore better iSs and regions with better compensation, etc.
The BKK fair allows you to network with top ISs even those in S.A and L.A. and they dont attend AASSA. The UNI fair has an emphasis on similar regions.
