Qsi Shekou question

Post by Jessicanelson27 »

Is it true that they will be moving their campus out of Shekou?

QSI Shekou-Shenzhen has been attempting to house their multiple campuses onto one site for years now. Currently there are 4 campuses, 3 in Shekou and 1 in Nanshan. QSI is still looking for a site and is being pressured by city government as well as student population. So from my understanding a move will happen sooner the later.

Does anyone know why there are so many positions open at this campus for next year, especially for lower school positions? Is it because the school is spread across multiple campuses? On their website they don't mention anything about multiple campuses in Shenzhen. Do they place a teaching couple at two different campuses?

Also, can anyone speak about the quality of housing and if it is near the schools?

They get a lot of turnover, its a lower tier school, and its China, great to start out (the country) in but its a revolving door. They always have a lot of recruiting. You could be at different campuses though close enough to still utilize one housing allowance. You get a housing allowance

For an international school with over 1300 students 19 new teachers wouldn't exactly constitute a lot of turnover. Especially considering QSI's max class sizes are usually 15.

Depends on the school (a number of elite tier schools can go a recruiting season without recruiting anyone), its a moot point though, QSI has 74 advertised vacancies not 19 (56 in PK-Primary alone).

There are 74 positions in all, covering all of their schools. There are 19 in Shenzhen, which is the school that roostersauce was referring to. My point is that 19 positions in such a large school as Shenzhen (over 1300 currently enrolled) is not a large turnover of staff.

My point is that it is. ASIJ has about 1500 students and they can go a year without recruiting anyone (zero hires).
