Saudi Arabia
Re: Saudi Arabia
There is no crisis in Saudi Arabia. The compounds where you'd be living are far away from the action in Afghanistan, Syria, and Iraq. Being concerned with instability in "the region" is like being fearful of living in the U.S. because of instability in, say, Honduras. I'm so unconcerned that I'm planning a trip to Iran next spring.

Lived there before. No worries. If the right position came up, I would go back again :-)

Have a great time in Iran! It's one of the countries I'd love to visit. Last I heard, it was nearly impossible for a US citizen to get a tourist visa for independent travel. Is there any chance that's changed?
