Intl Schools in Sweden: Malmo and Lund

Post by yolo »

Finding info on international schools in Sweden seems tricky- none of them are listed with Search. I'm looking, in particular, at any information regarding salaries/packages for expat/international hires. I know a lot of them hire a lot of Swedish teachers as their English level is so high.
Does anyone have any info on the following schools: Bladins International School of Malmö or the International School of Lund or The International School of Helsingborg?
Thanks very much in advance.

You may be finding it challenging because there are no private schools in Sweden, they're all part of the national public system and funded by the govt, not tuition. Hence there is no such thing as an international or expat package. Everyone working there is treated the same. Salaries are low by international school standards, and from that salary you will need to fund your own housing and pay taxes. It is challenging to make ends meet for most teachers, though obviously pretty much everyone manages it, just don't expect a flash lifestyle and lots of exotic travel. On the plus side, you get to be part of the advanced swedish social system, with medical care, union, and a great approach to life. Amazing parental, maternity, paternity benefits if that applies.
Most non-Swedes working in these schools are there for reasons somewhat different to teachers in the international market in other countries. Either they are so attracted to living in Sweden that they don't mind about the low pay, or they are tied to Sweden by marriage or children.
