I read EVERY review on the paid site but am hoping for some more recent information.

Housing? Math tutoring opportunities to boost income? Pollution and cleanliness.

The school website seems ok and the expat websites have generally positive things to say about Jeddah.

Thanks for any help.

Senator,

if you are doing math tutoring, will you have enough gas in the tank to do the job you are being paid to do? Note that for you to travel to your tutee's residence usually will take about an hour...there...and an hour back. If you can't do well with the salary, why are you considering going there?

Pollution is not high, but cleanliness is another question. Saudi culture was used to biodegradable stuff up until the plastics age, which is quite recent. So lots of garbage around, even out in the desert.

Housing is on Saudia compound, an older compound. When I was visiting Jeddah, it was ok - I didn't think the housing that I was in was horrible (hosted by a AISJ teacher).

Jeddah is fairly cosmopolitan for Saudi and not a bad place.

Good luck!
