Costs of Fulltime Ayi in Shanghai

Post by IAMBOG »

How much do fulltime ayis cost in Shanghai. She would be cleaning, looking after our two year when she's not at part time dayshare, maybe shopping for groceries, etc. We would need her fulltime from Monday to Friday.

Where do you find them? Are there agencies?

Thanks in advance.

Salaries vary widely but I have friends paying up to and over 4000 Rmb which is about 650-700 USD/month. We have a twice a week x 4hours ayi and we pay her 800 rmb/month. There are agencies but generally you are better served by contacting current and leaving staff and finding out whether they have ayis or know of ayis that need jobs. A good ayi is worth her weight in gold.

We pay ours 25 rmb an hour for a 45 hr work week. There are agencies, but we got ours as a recommendation from a family whose youngest was starting school and they did not need her full time any more.

We have ours shop and cook for us. She's a great cook and we find we save money compared to our old habit of ordering take out 2-3 times a week.
