teaching timetable for for IB teachers

Post by prince15 »

My current non-IB timetable is: 70 minute periods and I teach 4 of 5 periods a day. Two different courses is the average. Each course lasts one semester.

What do timetables for IB teachers look like?

I teach 50 of 70 blocks (50 minutes each) over a 2 week/10 day period. I am MYP, but the load is similar for our DP teachers.

Shadowjack,

What does 50 of 70 blocks mean? Do you mean you teach a subject class for one semester? How often do you see the same class?

I teach MYP & DP. I have 5 different classes, and see them all 9 times over a 2 week period. Our day consists of 7 x 50 minutes lessons.

Mr. C4ke,

May I ask how big your class sizes are? 5 different content classes sounds extremely tough. Is that the average load for IB?

16 is the smallest, 20 the largest. Although 5 classes, it's only 3 preps.
