IB/PYP experience and Learning Support

Post by escapeartist »

I know that IB/PYP experience is required by many higher tier IB/PYP schools. What about for Learning Support positions?

for Learning Support, IB experience would be helpful since you are helping students try to access the curriculum, but I wouldn't consider it a deal breaker. You do, however, need to have a good Learning Support/SpEd background.

If by learning support you mean special education than I don't think you need that extra training. A degree or license in special education means you are well-versed in differentiating curriculum in numerous ways. In my opinion, that would suffice even at the schools you talk about.
