No Response from Yew Chung

Post by IAMBOG »

Interviewed in London in the middle of January, but have heard nothing. We thought it went well (a very long interview though).

Should we abandon all hope?

Maybe. I interviewed with them in Hong Kong last weekend and they told me that all current vacanies are tentative now.

But staff don't have to give notice until the end of February, so I would guess many jobs are tentative.

Has anybody received an offer from Yew Chung for primary or kindergarten?

Yew Chung has schools in Beijing, Shanghai, Qingdao, Chongqing and Hong Kong. I can't believe all their positions are tentative. There are at least 50 vacancies shown on the Job Opportunities page on the website, and while some may already be filled they also don't post every position there either. Were you interviewing for one campus/city or open to positions on any of their campuses?

Remember that it's the Chinese New Year holiday and everyone is off work, not just teachers. They probably don't start again until the 10th of February.

Anyone heard anything yet? Agreed, that there seems to be a lot of vacancies to all be tentative

It seems the wheels start moving again after Chinese New Year.

Would that be true for much of Asia or just China?

Has the wheel started moving for anyone else? I got contacted from a different school yesterday evening, but nothing from Yew Chung yet.
