South American Schools - When do the jobs appear

Post by Jordan100 »

As the calendar for most South American schools is different, when do the jobs start appearing? Also, which websites are the best? Any help will be much appreciated.

Most of the schools you would want to look at start in August.

Try the Association of American Schools in South America (AASSA) or the Latin American Heads Conference (LAHC) for more British style schools.

Good luck.

The AASSA recruiting fair takes place at the beginning of December: http://www.aassa.com/page.cfm?p=352 It's a great fair with lots of schools that are very serious about hiring.

Regardless of the local school calendar, most ISs run a Fall/Spring (August-June) academic calendar. Most recruiting for ISs starts in Early November, but SCA schools dont do very well early in the season of "prime" recruiting. SCA schools generally have low salaries, and outside of laid back beach life, dont have much to attract ITs.

AASSA and UNI are very strong job fairs, I would recommend UNI over AASSA.

Please don't listen to PG. As far as education goes, he is pretty lost. But when it comes to this region he is utterly useless.

Good luck.
