I would like to know what it is like to teach/live there ?
Somehow, I have a feeling it is not as bad as my creative imagination
deems it to be !
Please help....

Hi Missy,
if you are going to work for one of the big three
Conti (British International)
AISJ (American International School of Jeddah)
Jeddah Prep
Then it can be ok. Out of the 3, Jeddah Prep is likely the one that would be roughest. Conti would be the best. AISJ in the middle.
Jeddah is a vibrant city with flights to all over the world. It is much more open than Riyadh, which is in the heart of the conservative part of Saudi. Still there is lots to do if you go looking for it.
If you are going to any other school in Jeddah - things will not be as nice.

This does not answer your question, but.......In the day Jeddah Intl School was Saudia SAIS, the only school owned by an airline (Saudi Arabian Airlines). It was a gateway to international teaching for many and also a cheap ticket to explore the world via cheap flights.
