St George's, Luxembourg

Post by ebennett »

Hi

Anyone know much about St George's School in Luxembourg? The school looks great but I'm wondering what life would be like for a single young teacher in that area? Any thoughts?

Its a nice little school, solid second tier overall, first tier for a british school. The students are great. Teachers develop a routine and then keep at it for years. Admin is traditional but supportive. The biggest complaint is that the current teachers are pretty tight knit, and can be less then welcoming to new comers.
Luxembourg isnt exactly a "hot" place, its not boring but its "quaint" kind of on the reserved and conservative side. Brussels is close enough though to get your fix if you want and the rest of europe isnt far away, and doable on a weekend.

Great. Thank you for those insights. I'm a bit worried about the potential of unwelcoming staff but pretty keen to find a solid school to work at so hopefully it will fit the bill.
