I have two years experience, but . .

Post by btech »

I taught at an International school in Shanghai for two years, English and Art. I had no teaching certification.

I will be certified in May 2013 for Physical Education (master's degree).

Although my two years experience is in a field that I did not teach in, would I still be competitive enough to find a job teaching PE, at least in China or in the Middle East?

Thanks!!

You should be able to find something, but not in the top tier schools. You'll likely need to start at a less reputable institution, put in your time, build your skills, and gradually climb the ladder to better places.

PsyGuy Rule 3, theres a job for everyone if you will accept anything. I agree with Sid, your likely to find a third tier school that will hire you. An additional factor for PE teachers is what they are qualified/certified by the various sports associations to coach.
