Is it necessary to stay every day of a recruitment fair?

Post by Rover »

Hi all,

For those who have been to one of these recruitment fairs...I see that some are for 4 days. Do you think it would be necessary to stay all 4 days? Is that usual, or is just the first few days fine? The Bangkok fair says it is from January Jan 8 - 11, for example. Seems a bit long, even with lots o schools there.

If you have leads and invites to interviews you should arrive early on the first day (orientation day). Many schools interview their preferred candidate before the fair even starts. Its frustrating to candidates when on day 2 before sign up vacancies have vanished already. As soon as you sign a contract there is little reason to stay.

Day 2 (the day of signup) is the busiest day, schools schedule their prime candidates for the first day and then spread the other candidates over the next day. Most candidates have about 4 interviews, and they know who they are talking too on the first day. The last day is a snooze, there isnt much going on accept last minute interviews, people packing and making flight connections. Most candidates with late interviews find out their interviews are canceled as contracts are accepted.
