I applied to a school directly through TIE and just got my Search profile activated. The school is also listed on Search. Is it too pushy to send the principal an email from the Search acct as well just letting them know that I'm a Search candidate?

I wouldnt. First, you dont know how the recruiter will respond. they may think your disorganized and ddont realize you applied twice.
Second, if you can help it apply through TIE or off the Search site. If their is a document trail the school is more likely to have to pay Search the placement fee for you. If they can avoid it it makes you that much more an attractive candidate. Realistically its not an issue with elite and tier one schools, but the lower tier schools it can make a difference.
