Statement of Educational Philosophy

How long should it be? Right now I'm at 1.5 pages single spaced but am worried that I'm setting my application up to get ignored.

Cut it down to a page, less is more, show that you can be succinct and that you can tighten up your writing. Its a philosophy STATEMENT, not a dissertation.
