There are some teachers at my school who are close to 60.

I know some folks in their late 50's and 60's. As they near that age they have to pay close attention to government regulations for each country and whether they can get an initial visa and how long they can renew their visas.

If you use Search Associates, they have a section on age limits (if they exist) on acquiring visas.

At my school there is a couple who are something like 68 and 70; a 70 year old retired last year who'd been there about six years.

Have known a number of teachers/admins who retired in US and then moved overseas. Most in mid-late 60's who enjoyed great time overseas. They can afford to take jobs for less money in schools/locations where lifestyle fits their needs. Planning on doing that myself.

China's got hundreds of cities in the back of beyond with retired guys (often hooked up with women half their age) doing a few hours ESL teaching a day in return for free housing and a good living wage.

Can't see that changing much in the next few decades
