URSULA MOCK/International School of Heiligenhaus

Post by Nomad68 »

I understand this school has recently changed its name and has a new Principal. Is it still owned/controlled by Ursula Mock? Is it still to be avoided?

They changed their name to Rheinland IS, they have a new head, and the school is now managed by a private education group, which serves as the board essentially. Mock is still the owner though. The school has deserved every bit of its reputation, it would be on my list of top 10 worst schools in the world. Do they get a clean slate, because they made changes, not in my opinion. They have an uphill battle to right all the wrongs they have perpetrated. Things are very different at the school so far, my feeling is its an act and show, and while I think the school will improve, it's still going to e a for profit, and corporate managed business, that based on information so far isn't going to change. I think they will be and stay a 3rd tier school, BUT that will be a vast improvement compared to the schools past.

I have friends who do/have worked here. Ursala Mock is no longer involved in the school in any way (even ownership). The school was entirely bought out by the Klett group whose numerous press releases have reassured everyone that Mock is gone and no longer part of IS Rheinland in any way.

I'm hearing there are still issues, but working conditions at least have significantly improved.[/url]

I heard that shes still the owner, and gets a percentage of profit, but she has no managerial influence or control. Klett group is essentially the board, and the board pays her a percentage of net.

Don't know if you can read German, but google translate does the job auch!

Dr. Mock is actually going around badmouthing the school now, which I'd doubt she'd do if she had any sort of stakehold in it. She does still own and operate International School Bochum, which I'm told has all of 13 students in it currently.

I do not and have not worked at for ISHH, but have been interested from afar here in NRW. BTW, Rheinland's new website is quite deceiving as Heiligenhaus is in the middle of no where. Takes an hour by bus to get to any major city.

Well i would bad mouth the school, in her position, if i had a stake in it. The only way youd build enrollment and profits is if people thought she wasnt in control anymore. My contact says she would have never sold the school outright, out of pride, but well money talks. I will admit based on your resources it would appear (and very convincingly) that shes gone though. My contact could be mistaking the other school for Rheinland.

You can still find the old ISH site humming along as well.
