Argentina

Is Argentina relatively safe for single women? Anybody have any information on some good schools in the area?

Just curious as to what's out there...

Argentina Safety

Post by nomadteachers »

I taught in Paraguay, which is right next door to Argentina. I traveled to Argentina many times with my wife (also a teacher), and our daughter. I found it to be quite safe. You can get mugged at night in Buenos Aires, but as anywhere else, you need to be careful when you go out. I have heard of date-rape drugs being slipped in at clubs in alcoholic beverages, so be careful with those. Other than that, I would be pretty confident. Argentina is a very progressive nation (in some ways, more progressive than the US, more akin to Europe).

Argentina is a fantastic country, a blend of European and Latin American cultures. It's as safe as any other place in LA, maybe safer.

However, for the better schools, there is a lot of competition for jobs.

Unless you're British, Lincoln is the only real option.

What about St. George's College Quilmes. It seems to get scathing reports on ISR.

What are the issues at St George's? Although I have read some negative reviews about the place on ISR, the reviews are only up to about 2009.
