I am curious why you flew Emirates? Did your IS arrange the travel, or did you, and if you did, why? Was it a set flight allowance and Emirates had a deal on tickets?

It was at the right time and its a great airline (other than the weighing of baggage thing). School paid, but we were given a choice. Remember luggage allowances are usually not as generous to Europe as they are to North America. No matter what the weight limit, we always push it. This is the first time we have had to dump stuff. Only a few bottles of chili sauce, so not a big deal. We only have ourselves to blame.
