Holland
I was reading some of the reviews on schools in Holland and came upon this line: "Amsterdam is only really livable in with the 30% tax allowance which applies for 10 years". Can anyone elaborate on this? Is this still in effect? Does it mean that overseas hires do not have to pay Dutch taxes? I'd appreciate any information. Thanks!

taxes in Holland
I have a couple of friends who teach in Holland. From what I understand, 30% of the salary is exempt from Dutch taxes for 10 years. The rest of the salary is taxed at local rate. By the way, they both still manage to save money and love it there.
