Re: Best Fair for Latin American Schools/Schools to Apply to
AASSA is great. I went to their fair last year in Atlanta and had five interviews and three job offers. I'm now happily working in South America with an awesome package. AASSA was well worth the investment for me personally. If saving money is a high priority on your list don't shy away from Venezuela. Yes, the country has it's share problems but the opportunity to save a ton of money is certainly there.

Venezuela
I'm moving down to Venezuela in July and was curious as to how the current political situation has affected those currently living down there. More specifically, teachers at international schools. Also any outside of the ordinary recommendations on what I should bring with me. Not my first time in South American but I've never been to Venezuela.

Re: Unrest in your new country
I am moving to Venezuela in July for next school year. I'm going in to it with the attitude that I know there will be daily struggles and annoyances. The salary I will be receiving is substantially higher than the four other school I got offers from (Sweden, Kazakhstan, Honduras, and Italy) and will be twenty minutes from the beach. The risk/reward factor is definitely something you have to consider but working at an American International school that pays in US Dollars certainly helps you out. I made a pros/cons list for every school and found my heart (and wallet) was in Venezuela. I may be a little bias because I love South America and hot weather...

Re: Venezuela vs. Kazakhstan
Yes, that is why I am a little torn. I'm not sure if it is going to blow over or turn into a bloodbath like Kiev.

Venezuela vs. Kazakhstan
I was offered a position in both Venezuela and Almaty, Kazakhstan and am unsure on which direction I want to go in. I am a very young, single male teacher with experience in the United States and Brazil. I'm a little unsure about the current state of affairs in Venezuela but am wondering if I am over-reacting. Besides the obvious, what are so pro/cons of each country? I don't speak Spanish or Russian.
