I've heard that the Search fair in Bethesda is a nice one to go to. I think it's a bit calmer than the 'mad' scrambles in January and February. Depending on what you teach, there are often schools who have had a late opening, contract cancellation from a previous hire or have simply decided to create a new position. There may not be as many openings as at the bigger fairs, however, schools at that late of a date really need to hire people. So, if there's an opening in your field, why not go for it!

How are the fairs going - ISS & Search Bangkok?

I was just wondering if any participants at the above fairs would be willing to comment on how it's going there. I'm curious to see what the 'mood' is like, if there seems to be lots of hiring, not as many positions as hoped for, complaints, compliments . . . especially in view of this past year's economic woes.

I'm heading for the stateside fairs in February and am just curious.

Good luck to everyone looking for that perfect job!

These are great responses - I'm in a similar situation however working in the US in a public school. In addition to teaching six hours a day with only sporadic planning periods, the police office with guard dogs is right next door to my windowless, freezing room with the spastic aircon! It never gets boring here between the knife fights, mental breakdowns and hair-pulling contests.

Needless to say I'm miserable - only 94 more teaching days but who's counting!

So I take it one day at a time and keep a sense of humor. I'm sooo hoping to find a great job this year teaching internationally!

In spite of it all, I will definitely stick it out to the end of my contract. Good luck to you Candycane!

Woodstock School - Mussoorie, India

Has anyone ever heard of this school? It's not listed in the reviews. Information would be appreciated.

ISS/COIS Fairs

I've seen that there are two ISS/COIS fairs coming up - one in February and one in June. Is anyone familiar with these fairs?

I'm attending the UNI fair in February and I'm debating on whether to sign up for one of these others.

Thanks!
