Chinese food quality/safety
Those who have/are teaching in mainland China, how do you feel about the food quality/safety? We all know the air is a huge problem, but do you feel you can feed yourself/family food that fairly fresh and somewhat healthy and not full of chemicals? Where do you shop? How do you treat your food once you buy them? I know, I know, food in the States is probably full of pesticides, too. But we all know China seems to have more problems with this. Thank you for your responses.

China and pollution...
Would the pollution in China stop you from taking on great teaching/international opportunities/experiences for you and your family? I am especially curious about Macao, Hong Kong, and Quingdao. Would appreciate any feedback from those of you who have lived or visited these cities. Thanks.

20 years teaching in Independent school-Search salary projec
I have 20 years experience, based on the salary projection on Search, is it possible to negotiate for higher salary than the 8+ year experience example posted? I should mention, I will have at least one dependent.

Package Negotiations
If you were offered a position in a top tier school, had a spouse who, while not a teacher, would be working at the school, too and had two dependants who would be attending the school, what would be your top 10 package/salary requirements or ideal package you would try to negotiate for?

Every review on this site is negative
I have been coming to this site for years to research schools. For the past 2 years at least, there is not one school that sounds like it would be worth applying to or to send a child. Am I just imagining it? Or is international teaching not what it used to be?

Admin opportunities and RN spouse
I am a currently a middle school teacher and English Dept Head in an independent school in the US. I have a Masters in Education as well as a certificate in Admin. I am interested in seeking international teaching or admin opportunities. Would international schools hire administrators with these qualifications? I would be traveling with 2 children (middle school and high school ) and my wife, who is a pediatric R.N.

Favorite administrators and why?
Who were some of the best administrators you worked with and why did you like them? Did you ever stay in a location because of staying with that administrator? Thanks!

New to ISR - Questions re: non-certified spouse and other ??
Our family is interested in International teaching. My husband has his masters in education, 12+ years experience and a certificate in administration. I am a pediatric nurse with no teaching experience. We have two children. I am willing to teach - a subject appropriate to my knowledge or work in a school as a nurse. Would they hire a non-native speaker as a nurse? Do schools hire spouses of teachers that are non certified teachers?. Also, how often do schools cover the tuition of dependents. How common is it that schools now use Skype or other means of interview in place of ISS, Search, etc events. Is it worth applying to schools directly. Finally, I have researched family friendly school on this site but any other recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!
