Re: After you've secured a position through Search...

but but but

You have far more experience than we do...but we received our tickets immediately, visa instructions and help, information on everything we asked for and more. I just don't see where they have let us down in any way, and I definitely feel valued.

Re: After you've secured a position through Search...

@psyguy, i'm not picking a fight with you but we signed a binding Intent to Hire, and our school sends out contracts to all new hires at the same time (so, after all hiring is done) and not piecemeal. Since we were hired very early, this meant waiting for contracts. There is nothing sketchy at all about this from a reputable school - HR just doesn't write up new contracts one at a time. Same with the enrollment papers for our kid, handbooks, etc. We are a cohort of new hires and it is efficient to manage us as such instead of one at a time. Search deactivated us based on these letters of intent, and we are - in fact - hired. The document signed by our Head says so and Search agrees.

Re: Search Assoc?

from another thread, I posted:

If you find yourself needing a recruiter, we found Michael Williams at Search to be fantastic. He answered all of our questions warmly, thoroughly, and quickly. He held our hands when needed, dragged us though, cheered us on, and congratulated our quick placement this year at our first IT post. I don't think we will be looking for jobs again soon, but I will go right back to him when we do.

"Matching"? No. They don't do that.

Re: Contracts

Yeah, I second shad. Our HR department just likes to draw up all the contracts at once instead of piecemeal - which makes sense to me. This is our first post, too.

Re: Contracts

Did you sign an "Intent to Hire"? Or was this just a casual agreement? Our school waits to send out final contracts until all positions are filled, but we got a very official and binding "Intent to Hire" immediately upon being offered positions.

Re: anyone ready to be excited with me yet?

Yeah, I really do apologize. I was being a total noob and realized that I'd completely identified myself and my family because we have such specific skill sets, etc.
