Thanks everyone. Great tip about the director. I had been digging around and found that he had been in the IB world for a while and to be brought into this very expensive project I thought he had to be sought after.
Being part of a new school could also bring rewarding challenges. It is something I've wanted to be part of for a while so I'm not shying away from learning more about the school. It's not for everyone, but my previous field was all about similar intense projects. It's not for the faint of heart Thats for sure.
Any country and region of the world has their challenges psy guy. Must assume every poster here knows nothing about the world.

Got the same email in November, went back numerous times to the link and found nothing, even emailed the school directly and never heard back.

Re: Issues with ISS
They market themselves as helpful, but that couldn't be further than the truth. Starting with multiple email inquiries over the summer just to even see if I qualified. Never heard back from them. I finally called several times and then got a human. Normally if a company does this I'd walk away, but friends had said this was the main agency to go through especially for my first time out. In general my email inquiries after being accepted took 7+ days to get a response.
The portal has been helpful and I've landed quite a few interviews and have plans to meet up w those schools at the SF conference, but I find their "assistance" in the process at a sub par at best.

Re: American International School Egypt: Main campus
I think anyone traveling outside of the U.S. needs to be prepared for not enjoying their comforts of home. Thats not a concern as I'm well aware I will face challenges no matter where I relocate.
My question is about the school climate and living in the area as a single female. It has recently and quickly expanded to two campuses, and one campus serves more nationals than the other. US news portrays anywhere in the ME as red flag dangerous. Since our news tends to be more tabloid based and not always accurate, I'd like feedback from people living and working there if possible. Seeking insight from a few sources including this site.

American International School Egypt: Main campus
I've been offered a spot at AISE for the next school year, but would love feedback from people currently living and working in Egypt; specifically Cairo.
Interested in climate at the school and safety for single females.
