That's funny I was just looking at the VIC registration.

From their website there appears to be an option to become fully registered if you can meet their standards.

The High School branch of the school I am going to offers the VCE in connection with a Victorian School. (I'm primary)

The primary follows the Aust Curric. with an IB framework.

VIC looks like it may be my best bet and failing that, a year in Oz is not so bad.

I thought I read something about qualifying for QTS by assessment only?

As in you teach in the UK for a year and are assessed by their education body.

Also, if you were to switch to admin after 5 years, you do not require a teaching certificate?

I'm registered in WA, however, it is my understanding that I can apply for full registration in any state.

Basically, I'm hoping there is somewhere in the world where I can apply for full registration once I have a few years experience without having to teach in Australia.

Not sure if you have had much experience communicating with teacher registration in Australia but from my experience they have not been particularly helpful.

Just hoping others may have first hand experience, especially as in regards to international teaching.

Is it even possible or do you have to teach for a year in Australia?

My provisional registration is good for 5 years.

When you have a staff situation where you are the only male, that is not particularly attractive to a man.

Especially if you lean towards masculinity, rather than femininity. (not that there is anything wrong with that)

You can quote all the research studies you like. IMHO half these studies are complete BS.

To me it's as simple as saying it is ideal to have a Mother and Father raise children. With the Mother having more influence in the younger years.

No doubt the vile acts of a small percentage of male teachers has a negative effect on recruitment. In regard to affirmative action, I don't think men want that, it's seen as a weakness.

Having a 10:1 ratio of female to male teachers is not ideal for a rounded education.

My understanding is private schools tend to have a better female to male balance.

Not sure that a move to have more male primary teachers could be considered sexist.

More like the reverse is true.

The whole purpose of spent convictions is to give people a second chance, so to speak, after a 10 year crime free period.

Declaring a spent conviction defeats the purpose of a second chance.

Of course, this varies country to country.

Certain convictions will never become spent, crimes against children etc. This is an area where countries, rightly, do share information.

First try and get a copy of your criminal record in the country where you offended.

If the offence doesn't show up for you, it is unlikely to show up for a third . search.

Lastly, I am unaware of the details of your offence and which country it occurred in, so take this advice with a grain of salt.
