Thanks TP, you have actually changed my mind. I now look forward to a harmonious relationship with an outspoken, independent woman who does not need me and does not take care of their physical appearance.
Your valuable insight in to how weak I am and how strong you are is spot on. I am am so glad you took the time to point this out, even though it would have been obvious by your strong arguments and logic.
:)

Re: European Pensions
I have no idea why you are bitter, or was it a rhetorical question?
Just because a man has a preference for feminine women who keep themselves in shape does not make them shallow.
You seem to have a condescending view of Asian women. I understand how they threaten you.
The irony of you claiming to be belittled while attempting to belittle me!

Re: European Pensions
You're right, you don't sound at all bitter ;)
Btw Asian women can be feminine, yet not 'subservient'.
There also tends to be a lot less overweight women in Asia.

By femininity I meant femininity.
Bitterness, not so attractive.

Re: Starting international teaching after PGCE - options?
Hey Joe
Just to let you know I landed a PYP job in SEA (hardship) straight off the bat.
It has been a good experience, however, I will return to Australia next year to enable me to transfer my provisional registration to full certification. Although I would prefer to stay international I feel it's prudent to get my full cert. to open doors in the future.
I would advise against spending money on an online IB course as IB is something that needs to be lived.
Cheers

Re: Would you still teach in W.Europe?
So, let me get this straight, according to Thames Pirate 'logic' fear of anyone different is xenophobic.
You fear ISIS?
Yes, congratulations you are now xenophobic :)
To put my final 'opinion' in a nutshell, I would like a Western Europe to have less fear and terrorist attacks from recent immigrants or children of such. I would reduce immigration from certain regions/countries.
Your position, as I see it, appears to be that we now must accept the threat of terrorist attacks as part of our everyday lives. And if you dare question the 'logic' of this you will be labelled xenophobic or racist.
I would gladly accept any name/insult you care to label me with if it resulted in a safer, less fearful Western Europe.

Re: Would you still teach in W.Europe?
A governments primary function is to keep citizens safe.
By importing new 'citizens' that do not integrate and are actively hostile to the host country is a failure of government.
And just because you know a middle eastern immigrant that is a nice person that doesn't make up for the others that aren't.
The current wave of immigrants are healthy young men who should be fighting for their own country.
The immigrants target the generous welfare states.

Re: Would you still teach in W.Europe?
A paper citizen is a very different thing to a true citizen.
The fact your so-called citizens committed these vile acts shows they are not true citizens.
To ignore the fact that these issues are directly related to immigration is delusional.
The fact that terrorist attacks are often committed by children of immigrants is an even stronger reason to restrict immigration from certain places because it is impossible to screen for.
Whose side are you on anyway?

@ Thames Pirate
To deal with a problem, the first step is admitting there is one.
You really need to catch up and stop being an apologist.
These problems are a direct result of government immigration decisions.
Therefore, comparing them to natural disasters and car crashes is simply ludicrous.

Re: Beneficial to have multiple teaching certificates?
Ok, that may be an avenue for me to pursue.
The reason I ask is that I am an AUS graduate but have started my teaching career in an IB IS.
All the AUS states require you to teach in AUS. So, my preference would be to stay OS in the IB system and gain QTS via HI certification.
Thanks for the info.

Re: Beneficial to have multiple teaching certificates?
Would it be possible to be granted HI certification with 3 years experience (gained as a provisionally licensed AUS teacher)?
Or do they need you to have gained the three years as a fully certified teacher?
Cheers
