Feel your pain as a fellow Canadian Teacher. I just wanted to let you know, from my experience and my friends who are ontario teachers - many of the Canadian overseas schools will hire new teachers...and if you find the right country - your partner can tutor, ESL teach, or even come over as a Teacher Assistant.

It will be a tough battle but once you have certification, alot of doors open!

(PS TORF, if they let you in, will help you find your first placement as will the Teacher placement service - just be open with where you go!)

I have read the threads and was wondering if I could get some info on one of the schools and the mastery system in particular Georgia and Armenia. (What are the school rep? Does Mastery seem to work? How long do people usually stay with QSI?)

You are not alone! I have many colleagues still looking...I was too picky so I planted myself at my school for another year....however...many people are still moving around - so keep looking!!

I have interviewed with them before. Seems like an okay place - appeared there were workload expectations (Medium to high)

Package looked okay but housing prices there are really high. Not sure if the allowance covers the costs, as well as the set up costs there are quite high.

:):) PHEW! Watching everyone get jobs makes you wonder...

My question is - when should I worry about not having a position for next year?

I have been reading this too and have no idea what to make of it.....I also have no idea what I would do....

Yes - there for a brief time - liked the experience of going abroad so dying to do it again! I sent her an email asking about the school as it was on my radar as well and havent asked her about it in awhile.
