I'm trying to think the same thing...figuring (or hoping, perhaps) that even contracts signed in BKK can fall through by the time the Cambridge fair comes around...people get sick...chicken out...or find a better or different position. I wouldn't be surprised if once in a blue moon a top tier school finds themselves stranded looking for someone in August! I'm sure it's rare but 'ya just never know!

Yes, there are 6 fairs before the Cambridge fairs but aren't they small and not all schools attend? I thought BKK and Cambridge were the big ones...just trying to make myself feel better! lol

I'm totally rethinking my Skype interview and driving myself mad... I just have to let it be...there's a school out there somewhere that I want and wants me...we'll find each other! ;)

I think I got most of that...what is 'scaffolding' exactly. I think that's why I get turned off by 'lingo'...not all of it but some of it is just so intentionally nebulous and bs (y) if you will.

I am a great teacher with a lot of experience and great references. But, what I'm not great at is the 'lingo'. In fact, I'm personally kind of 'anti-lingo' (particularly in the teaching professions) but I know I have to be up on 'it' for interviews.

So...what is the lingo that I need? What buzz words should I be throwing around?

I know this is one of those questions that can't be answered but just wanted to start a dialogue.

I just had a Skype interview at a great school but they are going to BKK fair...so now worried job will get scooped up....but I'm thinking that if I WAS going to the BKK fair that I'd be bummed I wasn't going to the Cambridge fair because maybe admins wait until that fair...

I'm sure there's no real rhyme or reason but it's all so maddening...

@Shadowjack...do kids really run the classroom in a PYP learning environment? I just have to laugh because if my little ones were to run my class we'd learn nothing all year except everything about horses (girls) and everything about Minecraft (boys)...lol

I've had good luck with Search email. Everything is right there for the head to see..in particular the anonymous references.

@Bluejay...Don't give up...I've only had nibbles...but you'll probably go to the London fair and scoop them up! Things will pick up!

Just wondering what people do about cell phones when living abroad...is it cheaper to get your cellphone/plan locally? Keep home country cell plan but pay for international usage? Would love any information/advice on best and cheapest plans/ideas.
