Re: Doha Modern Secondary School in Qatar
I am not familiar with the school but I can say they do Skype interviews in the Arab world as I had one with a school in Bahrain a few years back. Whatever she does tell your friend not to pay any money as some cons pose as a school and say they neeed you to send money for the visa. Who did she interview with? Contact them and ask for contact details. Maybe check out the Qatar Education Ministry or its equivalent. Good luck.

joyjobs and Tieonline
Does anyone have experience or knowledge regarding joyjobs or Tieonline? I see a lot of information about SA and ISS but very little about these agencies. Thanks.

Re: One year contracts
Many schools across the globe offer one year contracts. Find a school you are interested in and talk to them about a one year contract. Memorial International School of Tirana offers one year contracts and the primary school principal is Canadian. Many schools in Turkey offer one year contracts.

Re: Teaching couples w/3 kids where are you?
I know a teacher at my school that has 3 children attending, I know a couple of teachers with 2 kids and I have 1. Some are pregnant. What do you teach? It is definitely not a problem at my school.

Budapest or Zagreb
Has anyone worked at or know any information on the American International School of Budapest or the American International School of Zagreb? I am looking for information such as the quality of life in these cities as well as the salary and benefit package. Any information on the school staff or personal experience would be helpful as well. I am a single parent of a 4 year old. We have been living abroad for the past 2 years and I have been working at an international school where my son attends. Thanks in advance for ny information.

Re: raising children abroad
There are definitely positive and negatives. I teach in Europe with my young son. The country we live in is poor and we are able to live well on just my salary. Our first year here he had a fulltime nanny and now he is starting his second year at the school that I work at. He loves school but not playing with children outside of school. I can see his frustration with the other children not being able to communicate with him in English. The private healthcare here is very inexpensive. I enjoy teaching abroad and plan to do it long term.
