Re: Breaking contract for an offer you really want - issues?
I've been reading everyone comments and its making me second guess what I would do if I were in your position. What I would encourage you to do is follow your dream offer. The key word its your dream not any one else. You not want to wait another two years or more to possibly get the job. Inform the other school in a timely manner and everything will work out . Good luck

Re: Job Offer Question
Thank you so much. They are providing housing for me but I will have to pay utilities . One trip a year to home country and world insurance will be paid for. No shipping allowance is being offered. What is considered a good salary if 13,000 is low.

Job Offer Question
Hello I'm excited that I was given an offer in the UAE. But I have a few question before I accept later in the week. IS living off 13000AED a month reasonable in Dubai? The school is paying my child's tuition ( will that cover all other expenses), They informed me I would have to pay for his lunch but he can have breakfast, housing is included but not electricity or water. Is there anything that should be negotiable ? This is my first overseas job so I appreciate any feedback. Also, what opportunity can my husband have there?

Re: Cambridge
Wow !!!! Thank you for giving me an insight on what I might face. We are paying quite a bit of money for travel, hotel, transportation , etc... to not have accurate information until the day of arrival. Doesn't seem fair

Cambridge
I noticed that some of the schools attending the job fair just one or two positions open. My question is will they show up with just one-two job post? I have also heard in the past that some schools do not even show up. How and when will an accurate list come out before the Cambridge fair.

Re: Result of interview
That's the same situation that I am in. I was promised a call back in a week, but have not received an email yet. It is making me nervous and I truly do not want to miss out on this school. I do not want to bother them but at the same time I think it is imperative that I reach out . Best of luck of you !!!

Child Abuse and discipline
Hello I was wondering how child abuse/ neglect is handled at international schools. Also, discipline of students . The reason why I am asking is this question has come up when I interviewed for a position previously. Here in the U.S. we have CPS for issue that might arise with parents overly discipline their kids. Thank you

Re: Do you have to attend job fair?
Thank you Shadowjack I have never heard of Carney-Sandoe. Will look them up right now and see if I can get leads. My search associates platform is taking quite some time based on the "optional" requirements that I am being asked to submit. Thank you again. I'm truly looking at a certain reason and would like to explore getting a job by Dec/Jan without having to wait in person.

Do you have to attend job fair?
Hello :
I am writing to get helpful advice on weather or not I should attend a job fair and invest money into a recruitment agency. I have been in education for ten years, currently I am counselor and I have just completed my principal degree. I really want to work overseas as that as been my passion. The issue I am having is in my current state we never pay to look for a job if you are truly qualified for the job you get it. Also, do I pay money to have some one look for a job for me? I have looked on several school website and made contact already to let them know I am interested in jobs that might become available. Please do not think that I do not want to pay to get the help but I truly want to know if its possible to get a job without having to miss several days of work, hotel, flight ticket to land a job. Everything requires investment but internet is the new thing these days. I greatly appreciate any positive advice. Thank you

Well I am happy to report that I have heard from 3 schools that will like to meet at the fair. Another school wishes to conduct a Skype interview. I guess schools start contacting candidates closer to fair time. However my top choice schools have already filled their position for counselors. I feel so much better knowing that I am not being overlooked. Good luck to everyone currently at the fair
